How can I find information on an artist from Holland with the last name Stolk?
This is a bit of a long shot but all I can think of is that you post this question again slightly rephrased on Travel, Europe (Continental), Netherlands, and see if anyone who maybe visits Holland or speaks a bit of Dutch, and is also interested in art, could help you.

I did a bit of a web search but couldn't find anything relevant.
Reply:here's a website that seems to have a lot of good artist help and all that...perhaps you can find it here:

How do you put the last name of a player on a college jersey?

I know you cant buy it like that because it's against NCAA rules, but i've seen jerseys with names on the back. How do you do that?

How do you put the last name of a player on a college jersey?
Take it to a local shop that does screen printing. Or you can be real fancy and get it emrboidered, then it wont peel or crack. Just look up either screen-printing etc, in the yellow pages
Reply:you can custom order one, it will still be a legit jersey and you can put any name on the back. you just arent supposed to endorse or promote any player, thats why its okay for throwback jerseys to have the names and not the current ones
Reply:There are places you can take your jersey to that do screen printing and embroidering, you'll just have to look in the yellow pages in your area or online.
Reply:Get some paint. Get a brush. Get a shirt. Pain anything on the back of shirt. that simple.
Reply:...use go and purchase "iron on letters" but be sure to place a towel over the letters as you are ironing them on...
Reply:Take it to a local sports shop that deals with kids uniforms.

They can add anything to your uniform.

Go bodly.....
Reply:with a magic marker
Reply:With a pen
Reply:go to a sporting goods store..they will know.

How do I find out if a painting is worth alot if all I have is the last name and can't find it online?

It has or looks like cherry bloosom and the Whitehouse(capital) in the painting. The painter last name or maybe first is Wyeth.

How do I find out if a painting is worth alot if all I have is the last name and can't find it online?
Jamie Wyeth painted many images of the White House. Look him up and see if the style is the same. Research the paintings he did with the same subject. You need an appraiser to check it out and authenticate it.
Reply:Hmmm.

Try posting it on eBay, but don't respond to the bids. Then average it out.

Or you can hire an apprasier for an apprasial for the painting.

Good luck!
Reply:try contacting soetheby's in boston. i see them all the time on the T.V's antique road show. they seem to no there stuff %26amp; there auction's bring in big $$$
Reply:Try Sotheby Parke Bernett. I think they've got a website. Flash them the name. If it's worth a go, they'll probably charge a fee.

If it's really worth a go they'll probably offer to work something out.

Anybody would.

It's more reliable than the bureaucracy of a museum or the National Appraisers Institute in West Hollywood. I wonder about those characters.

Subject matter and name is immaterial. Demand, and workmanship. Doesn't matter what the name is. Worse if it's a known artist like Wyeth. It has to be verified. Which one? That sort of thing.

Value is subjective. It may be worth something in the continental U.S. but it's not the same thing overseas. There was a guy who bought something he felt was an unknown Caravaggio and is probably still looking to verify.

I think he paid about a quarter million. If proven it may well be worth a hundred times that in this particular case, if I remember correctly.

Point being this is commerce. People, specially professional people, tend to perform if there is something substantive to it. Hope things work out for you.
Reply:I'd call your local museum and start there. They should be able to help you. Good luck. I hope the painting is worth a bundle!

How can you change your last name legally?

I am 20 and want to change my last name to my great-grandmother's maiden name. The last name I have now is cumbersome, and causes me a great disadvantage; I also want to pay homage to my matrilineal line.

I will be home in New York from college for 4 months this summer. Is this enough time to change my last name? What are the procedures, and how much will it cost?

Thanks so much for any help you can offer!!!

How can you change your last name legally?
Call the clerk of the court in the county.

In my county, in California, the fee is $320. You file a petition and take out a legal notice, which runs for four weeks. (Cost of that varies, but it is in addition to the $320.) If no one objects, the judge grants the request.

The procedure is probably the same or similar in NY, but the cost and number of weeks may vary.

Once you get it, you show or mail a notarized copy to your school, doctor, DMV, bank; the Social Security Administration . . .

A note to your high school would be appropriate too, if anyone ever does a full background inverstigation on you.

You'll need a notarized copy of the change every time you apply for a passport, apply for a job, apply for a security clearance, apply for a driver's license . . .

Your college records may end up under two names, which will make getting a transcript tricky.
Reply:This is not so much an answer but an opinion. I think what you're wanting to do is wonderful. I think the patriarchal tradition is outdated and denotes women as 2nd class citizens. One of my pet peeves is when people automatically assume women are going to change their names to their husband when they marry. If you change your name to your great-grandma's, I say keep it when you marry. I plan on keeping my name when I marry and even giving it to my kids as a hyphenated name.
Reply:Yes, go to the court house and they will let you know everything that you need to know. But, have you discussed this with your parents? And, when you get married your last name will change anyway .. you might want to think about those that you might be disappointing in this transaction.
Reply:im not sure the exact tactics for that but you could go to city hall and ask there

How do I change my last name to Kennedy?

People are always talking about how cool and marvelous and famous and cool the "Kennedys" were, how do I change my last name to Kennedy? Thanks!

How do I change my last name to Kennedy?
You go to court and tell the judge you want to change your last name. The judge will say to what, in which you reply, Kennedy to which the judge says, why? and you reply, because it's marvelous and famous and cool to which the judge replies, get the fu*k out of here you moron basta*d..
Reply:Anyone can change their name legally, for any reason, except to avoid criminal prosecution or being found if wanted for crimes, or to get away from your bad credit.
Reply:marry a Kennedy.

the court system will only allow a name change for a valid reason. being badass is not typically valid
