How can my wife change her last name after we got married?

We got married in Las Vegas where it is not automatic. We are living in California. She doesnt have a drivers licence so im not sure what the dmv could do in this situation.

go to the social security office with the marriage license, then go to the dmv for a new license with her new name on it
Reply:Yoru last name doesn't automatically change when you get married. You have to take your marriage license to the social security office, and get a new card, and you have to get a new Drivers license. Lots of women keep their maiden name even after their married. Less paperwork that way. but, it's not automatic.
Reply:All you need is your marriage certificate and contact the social security dept either the 1-800 number or local. She doesn't need a driver's license. if she wants one she'll provide the dmv her new ss card, proof of residency like a bill with her name and address on it, and marriage certificate or birth (just take as much info you have as humanly possibly to the dmv)

Reply:She has to take the marriage liscence and her social security card to the social security office and fill out a form to have it changed, they'll send her a new ss card and from there she can change her drivers liscence.

And ps. None of her friends from her past will ever be able to find her if she changes her name. Would you change your last name for her? I suggest you don't mark your territory on her.
Reply:she needs to go to motor vehicles within 6 monthe i thing and get it changed because her license begins with thr first letter of her name and she does not have that name anymore which she can get into trouble
