How many women actually give the baby the fathers last name?
many women do, its your choice.
Reply:i did
Reply:Most do.
Reply:my children have my last name..me and their father arent married, and i dont like his last name
Reply:me..but we all have the same last name..I'm married, does that count ?
Reply:I am married so this was never an issue!
Reply:my boyfriend and i live together and our son has his last name we might get married but its your choice cause my mom gave me her maiden name and she married my stepdad and i still have her maiden name
Reply:When I had my first son, his father was not at the hospital nor was he involved with my son, so my son has my last name. Now that I am having my second, I feel that because this child's father will not be living with us, we are our own family. I believe that since I am the head of household and I am the caretaker that the children should have my last name until I get married. It's causing a big fight between me and my unborn son's father, but if he isn't going to be here with us as a family, then legally the choice is mine. I personally am offended by Tessa's answer. I know who both my son's fathers are and have since day one of finding out that I was pregnant. HOW DARE you assume that I didn't give my kid's their father's last name because I didn't know who the father was? Perhaps it was just because the fathers are jerks and choose not to be there when they get a girl pregnant. Maybe before you make assumptions like that you should have statistics to back it up. Many women know who their "baby daddy's" are and they still choose to give the child their last name because the mother is the only solid part of that child life.
Reply:I think majority of them do, but its ur choice.
Reply:me
Reply:a lot
Reply:im married so of course our son has our last name.

who's last name would i give him??
Reply:I gave my son my last name.

Edit: I knew who the father was but we were not together and I was not sure what is level of commitment might be - turns out he is a great father but I am still glad my son has my last name.
Reply:i am married to him so we all have his last name
