I need to know how to do this for my essay due tomorrow!
How do you put your last name on the upper right corner of a page in Microsoft Word?
Go to View%26gt;Header and Footer
Put your name in the header area and then format it to the right side.
Reply:You need to access the header. You didn't say which Word version so I'll just give you Word 2007 (only because it seems most users are asking about that version these days). Insert on the ribbon, header, pick your choice here (probably Blank will work for you), then click "insert alignment", select "right", and then type in your name. Then close the header and you'll be good to go.
Reply:fine INSERT and choose header
Reply:Change the tab stops, and font alignment from left to right.
Reply:Go to "View" then down to "Header and Footer" ((be sure to click the tab that lets you begin typing on the right side, near the B,I,U tabs)) then just type what you need and click close
Good luck =]
Reply:On your toolbar in Word, there should be some icons that look like little horizontal lines. These are for adjusting the alignment of the text. Normal alignment is left margin alignment. There are also icons for center (which will center every line from the middle line of the page) , justify (which will wrap the text margin to margin) and right margin alignment. You can also find this command under Format:Paragraph:Alignment. Switch the alignment to "Right" on the line you want your name on and start typing. It will type your name starting from the right margin.
Good luck.
Reply:Headers and Footers. In Word up to 2003, you'll find it under the View menu.
When you choose View --%26gt; Headers and Footers, it will be the Header that is selected. The text everywhere except there will be light grey (although coloured might be other colours.) When you aren't in a header or footer, the text in those will be light grey.
You can split headers from the previous ones and you can split footers - you don't have to split both. If you don't want your name on every page, you'll need to split the header(s) you want it on.
I'll look back here in a short time so if you need more help or have 2007 and need help with that, add additional details.
EDIT:
Reading over what other people had said reminded me that I meant to mention tabs. There are tabs already set up in headers (and footers) for left, middle and right. When you get into the header, hit the Tab key on your keyboard twice and then type your name - it will move right as it needs to. Left tab is shown on the ruler as an L, right is a backwards L and middle is like two L's stuck back to back, kind of: _|_
Reply:you can either access the header or an easier way is to use a text boxx. to use a text box first make sure that you have the drawing toolbar open. then click text box. then you just use the cursor to draw the text box where you want it.
