The Social Sceurity office does not hyphenate, so no changes there. Do I need to go back to the DMV and and banks to tell them I changed my mind??? What should I do? Mostly Im concerned with the DMV.
How can I go from having a hyphenated last name to dropping my maiden name?
Take your social security card and your marriage certificate down to the DMV. Say "I'm married and am changing my last name to my husband's name."
As long as your social security card reflects the name you want to have on your license and banks then that's fine, the social security card and marriage certificate are all you need as proof to change your name legally.
The bank will want to see copies as well.
Reply:Call the court house and get the documentand fill it out, then you will have to go in front of a judge and possible explain why you want the change, and as long as there is not a reason, like ur a felon or there is a judgment against you, then they will more than llikely do it for you.
Reply:Go on your states online site and download a form to fill out and submit it.
