Appropiate last name for a fictional character?

It's a protagonist, so make it peppy and bright, but not something stupid like Rainbow.

Reply:What's the first name? Unless the name features within the storyline, I'd just pick something that sounds good with the first line, and avoid any references to historical bad guys (Hitler, Ivan, Nero, etc.)

Reply:I also have this problem. The name depends on the character, so write the story without him/her having a name, and once you begin to see his personality, name him/her accordingly. Or you could name him after something (either in your work or outside), but not something obviously a copy (for instance, Golith or Githowl, named after Lithgow from the Inheritance Cycle).
