You want to change your last name on your green card so that it reads your wife's last name? Most men do not take their wife's last name. If you want your green card to show that your last name has changed, your I-90 application must include the order, issued by a court of competent jurisdiction, changing your name.

You will receive evidence in the form of a temporary Form I-551 to use while your I-90 is pending. You'll still be able to look for employment.
Reply:I don't even think this is even legal you cannot take on her last name it does not work that way in this country.
Reply:Yes, it can take a while, but it is not necessary. You wont need to change her last name to yours until you renew the card. In the interim, she will just present a copy of your marriage certificate along with her passport to support the different name on the green card.
