What names would clash with my last name?

Our last name is Day, well not exactly but that is how you pronounce it. I was just hoping you could tell me what names to avoid. This is kind of for fun and so I don't give my children names people will tease them about. Maybe you dont think we will have a problem with any names let me know.

I love the name lacey would she get called lazy day?

What names would clash with my last name?
Lacey sounds just fine, and if you are trying to find a name that cant be made fun of, its prettymuch impossible. There are some names that are harder to make fun of but the mean kids at school will always think of something. Just go with what sounds good to you and your husband. If your daughter cant stand her name, she can make up a middle name, or change her name at 18.
Reply:My name is Heather, and all my life people have called me Heather Feather, Made of Leather and can tell the Weather.

Thanks for thinking of your child!!

I would avoid:

Wendy Day

Autumn Day

Ann Day (Andy)

Sandy Day

Summer Day

Samantha (Sam for short, could be used as Sam Day...(Some day))

I would avoid Lacey. Maybe use it as her middle name.

I like Christine.
Reply:ha ha girls names

holly day

sonny day

rani day

boys names

brad day (bad day)

fred day (friday)
Reply:Lacey Day would be cute. I wouldn't even think of that Lazy Day thing.

Something like Dayle Day would clash.
Reply:i think the name ally would be nice or maybe natasha but the name lacey probably would be lazy day
Reply:Excellent point, and thank you, thank you for thinking ahead. I always feel so bad for kids whose parents didn't have any consideration for how their name was going to sound...or look.

If YOU as an adult thought of lazy day, then kids will think of that and more. When you have a last name that is or sounds like a regular word, you have to be extra cautious. Example: I knew a guy once whose name was Robin Banks. Yeah, hilarious, I know - and he did end up using it to his advantage when he became a musician.

The other side to the story is that kids will ALWAYS find ways to make fun of other children, regardless of how carefully their parents choose a name.
Reply:Skyla, Blue, Clouda, Sunny, Raine, Snow, Planetta...

Some that would sound good are:

Cassandra

Catherine

Amelie

Stephanie

Zoe

Roxanna
Reply:I'm shocked more people don't see Lacey Day as lazy day. Another kid would pick that up in about two seconds I think.

I think it's great that you're thinking about this kind of thing. There were way too many kids in my school growing up with names like Mike Croutch, Summer Rayne etc. The parents might find it cute but the kid is the one who has to deal with the teasing.
Reply:I know someone named Venus Day, %26amp; a dude named Jacob Day.
Reply:lacey sounds fine...just avoid most D names (dont want her being called DD) Daisy Day, Dana Day or David Day. stuff like that.

dont do that stuff like Sunny, Rainy, Stormy, Tuesday, Faith, Harmony....those kind of names would not really go with your last name

good luck
Reply:Lacey Day is alright I think... although I'm not that crazy about the name Lacey.
Reply:The most obvious ones I can think of is:

Sun/Sunny

Son/Sonny
Reply:I'd avoid anything like

Rae

May

Kay

Tay

or

Rainey

Sunny

Cloudy

Chilly

Anything else would go well with it i think=)

Lacey Day is cute, and I don't think she would be teased about it=)

Macey Day is cute too
Reply:Yeah, Lacey would be a definite no.

Others:

Sunny or Sunshine

Summer

Any calendar month name

Any calendar day name

Wendy

Scarlett

Clare

Pretty much any word name (Misty, Rosie, etc)
Reply:Obviously not anything like sunny, summer, autumn, or any months of the year! Other than that I would say nothing ending with an -ay sound just because it sounds a bit too rhymey.

Lacey day seems OK to me, I don't think that she would get called lazy day because Lacey is kind of a normal name, nothing weird,so people would probably not think to make fun of it, but find something else to laugh at instead.
Reply:Perhaps you might want to avoid names that end with -y, -ey or -ay. Any name that ends with -a (and there are so many lovely girls' names that do) should be fine.

Just a thought from an outsider!
Reply:Another thing to watch for is initials. You don't want to give your child initials that will spell out things like O.D.D. or B.A.D.
Reply:Well if Lacey made you think "lazy" then it will likely happen...

hmmm..lets see...Day...weird combo's=

Girls = Summer, Dawn, Dolly, Grace, June, Rose

Boys = Jack, Gage, Ryder, Christian, Hank
