Where does the last name Murie come from?

It is my last name, and it is kind of strange. I just want to know its origin.

Where does the last name Murie come from?
Murie

1. Scottish: habitational name from Murie in Perthshire.

2. possibly a variant spelling of Norwegian Muri.

Muri

1. Norwegian: habitational name from a farmstead in Sunnm酶re called Muri, probably originally M忙rvin, from Old Norse m忙rr 鈥榠llustrious鈥? 鈥榞lorious鈥?+ vin 鈥榤eadow鈥?

2. Swiss German: unexplained; perhaps a variant of M枚ri (see Mori 3).
Reply:Murie

Scottish: habitational name from Murie in Perthshire.

possibly a variant spelling of Norwegian Muri
Reply:This is a very scottish name but can be found throughout the British Isles. As the person above said, it's origin is in Perthshire, and it was originally the name of a small village, where your ancestors probably came from.
